Zenitsu Agatsuma is one of the main characters in Demon Slayer and a core member of Tanjiro’s team. Though he appears cowardly, emotional, and riddled with self-doubt, when unconscious or asleep, he displays incredible swordsmanship. Trained in Thunder Breathing by Jigoro Kuwajima, he represents the power hidden behind fear. Despite his reactions, he is loyal and brave when it counts.

Zenitsu uses only the First Form of Thunder Breathing: Thunderclap and Flash, but he has perfected it to an extraordinary degree. Through variations like Sixfold or Godspeed, he becomes incredibly fast and deadly. Though limited to a single form, his mastery over it makes him one of the most impressive slayers.

Zenitsu has grown up with a deep fear of death and very low self-esteem, causing him to panic easily. His lack of confidence leads to exaggerated reactions and cowardice. Despite that, his determination and will to protect others allow him to overcome these emotions when it matters. His fear makes him more human and relatable.

Zenitsu grows from a cowardly bystander to a brave fighter who stands up for what he loves. As the story progresses, he gains confidence in his abilities and pushes past his limits. His affection for Nezuko and dedication to his friends lead to some of his most heroic moments. Over time, he proves himself a worthy slayer.

Zenitsu shows strong romantic interest in Nezuko from the very first moment he sees her. While their relationship doesn’t develop much throughout the series, it is implied by the end that they end up together. His obsession may seem comedic or excessive at first, but it reveals genuine affection and a deep desire to protect her.

Zenitsu is perhaps the most contradictory character, mixing extreme cowardice with unbelievable strength when asleep. This duality makes him memorable and beloved by fans. While he lacks the confidence of other slayers, his bravery emerges when it’s needed most. His internal struggle makes him one of the most human heroes.
